50 YEARS CAREER CELEBRATION!
Toquinho's career took off in 1959, when the Bossa Nova movement was kicking off. Throughout his 50-year career, Toquinho made numerous collaborations with the biggest names in the Brazilian Popular Music and generated a total of approximately 400 songs recorded (including his own lyrics and music as well as the ones made in collaboration with other artists), more than 86 albums and nearly 10,000 shows. In 2009, Toquinho fulfilled his dream of singing with Andrea Bocelli. The invitation came from the Italian tenor and on April 21st they sang together at the Independence Park, in São Paulo, for an audience of more than 25,000 people. In 2010, he signed the Brazilian version of CATS, in Portuguese language, with a touch of Brazilian sounds but without detracting from the original. Singer, instrumentalist and composer, Toquinho always demands more and better from himself and sees the guitar as an extension of himself that merges into a single entity, wood and skin, strings and heart to fulfill his motto of “ only have time to be happy”! In October, he returns to Portugal to celebrate life and his 50-year career, alongside musician Naillor Proveta and singer Camilla Faustino!
