“Viana Bate Forte” (Viana’s strong beat) returns once again in September by Viana do Castelo city’s core. After its third edition in 2018 that put “Viana Bate Forte” up there amongst the biggest musical events in Portugal, the festival comes back with concerts performed by some of the most nationally renowned musicians. The entrance to the event is free of charge and gathered around fifty thousand people last year by the Historical Centre of Viana do Castelo.
Besides showing the best that Portugal has to offer musically, the “Viana Bate Forte” festival stands out by the engagement and synergy with the city’s historical core.
Organized by the Municipality Town Hall, the event takes place into a unique scenery of architectonic heritage, with various monuments, churches and centenarian buildings, but also Lima’s River, the Atlantic ocean and of course all the cultural, viticulture and gastronomical heritage the “Alto Minho”’ capital has to offer, increasingly turning the region into a touristic destination imbued with an high potential of attraction towards national and international visitors.
