Pillory

Bragança
Description
Symbol of the municipal power. Was moved to different places in the city and may have been in these "wanderings" that was embedded in a nut. The monument is thus composed of two distinct pieces, two elements well separated in time: the pillory proper - a column of smooth shaft and crown; And the proto-historical zoomorphic figure, a boar (popularly referred to as "village nut"). From this marriage resulted an anachronistic, but original and of great symbolic value
