The ALVARINHO Museum, cultural and management equipment of Monção, aims to inform visitors about the ALVARINHO cradle, its territory and its people: what makes it here in Monção and Melgaço different and unique.
Its mission is to reveal new essential knowledge and understanding of a Unique Wine - the ALVARINHO and disseminate the ALVARINHO brand, from the Sub-region of Monção and Melgaço, a Living Museum that promotes wine products knowledge, the region’s Built Heritage as well as the dissemination of the ecological and sustainable patrimony.
Through its exhibition, the ALVARINHOMuseum aims to promote the sub-region of Monção and Melgaço as a single production area of ALVARINHO wine, and power it as a high quality gastronomic product.
The idea is that the ALVARINHOMuseum reveals the ethnographic potential, the knowledge and traditions of our ancestors as key players of a territory development.
In other words, the Alvarinho Museum aims to encourage the protection of Heritage and Local Identity.
