FIRST TOWN HALL

Póvoa de Varzim
Description
This single-store building, which looks a bit like a manor house, and which is based on 5 arches, dates back to the 16th century. On its facade, in between its only windows, and above the main arch, one could, in the past, admire the Coat of Arms. The side entrance includes an outdoor staircase, with a solid stone shield. Built in the civic centre of the village of the times, this is one of the symbols of the independence that this settlement gradually achieved, and which reached its high point in the 16th century.
