Vila Nova de Gaia
Description
The most recent of the bridges, inaugurated in March 2003, owes its name to the Infante D. Henrique, the Navigator. This road bridge was projected by the Engineer Adão da Fonseca and its building had as goal to replace the upper platform of the Luiz I bridge, meanwhile converted to Metro passage. Built in reinforced concrete, it has a length of 371 meters and 20 meters width. It is situated in open historical area and next to the Serra do Pilar escarpment.
