Description
The Hill of S. Mamede is famous for its slope, from where you can see the archaeological heritage of the Castro of S. Mamede (village from the Iron Age).
From its 409 meters high is possible to admire all the existing agricultural surroundings at the foot of the hill as well as the entire coastline and especially the estuary of the Cávado River and the immensity of the Atlantic Ocean till close to Douro valley.
In the surroundings of this viewpoint, you can visit several places of heritage and environmental interest: Chapel of Senhora da Boa Morte, Ruins of the Castro de S. Mamede, the Grave of the Friar, the Lagoons of Enxate and the Stream of Feitos.
