Walking along the River Medreiro riverside we come to the Padre João Rodrigues square. Built in the 90s by the local authority, pays a single homage to the illustrious “sernancelhense” who wrote the first grammar of Japanese, a Jesuit missionary who worked with the emperors of Asia and took the name of Portugal to the world.
