The Picnic Park of Castelinho opened to the public in June 2007 and had two interventions: the Castelinho Park and the River Minho Biological Park. It is located near the historic center and extends to the west parallel to the river. It was designed both for children and adults and it has several sportive and entertaining proposals with an educational component associated with nature and with the water resources. There are several offers in this place: trails; the Interpretative Charca; the Playing Field that is a space to play football, handball, basketball, and volleyball; the Radical Park that for climbing, skating and bicycles; the Minigolf Course; the Children`s Park with several games for several ages and the famous Water Games which represents the distinct border towns from Melgaço until Caminha.
The park has a round main route with a proper pavement with several possibilities of use (pedestrian, bicycles, skates, etc.). Belonging to this Park there are also the Aquamuseu of river Minho, the old Ferry-Boat Station, a Floating-Bar and a Restaurant are part of this park.
