Every year, in September, the parish of Mouçós holds a unique religious manifestation!
The festivities in Honour of “Nossa Senhora da Pena” bring together thousands of people who are anxious to admire the procession known for its monumental saint hoists: reaching 24 metres in height (higher than the Church itself), weighing tons, and carried with about 100 men. For these reasons, the saints’ lifters are already in the book of Guinness records. The ending of the procession is marked by the traditional "Saints dance" around the Church, in which, despite its size and weight, each one is carried, jumping along the atrium of the Church.
At night is time for festivities with Fireworks.
