The Sports pavillion of Santa Marta de Penaguião, has been designed with as guiding parameters, the program settings, the physical reality of the available space for its implementation, the topography, the main roads that affect its accessibility and the surrounding built.
In this context, we conceived the distribution and organization of the different spaces, looking to enhance the functional aspects in order to respond properly to all program requirements and in accordance with the regulations.
For the materialization of existing targets, it was necessary to specify the edge of the area and the volume of intervention in order to optimize the distribution of the different spaces, reducing the circulations and establishing clearly the accessibility to facilities taking into account the non-creation of architectural barriers.
Special attention was given to the direct relationship between the volume of the building and its functional placement to allow a clear reading of the type of activities which are there developed.
One of the most important aspects, was to privileged the articulation between the different sectors and functional areas, although the areas spatially well-defined ensuring the close and necessary privacy.
The respective disposition and conformation of spaces, served by large, clear horizontal communication, promote the accessibility and the ease evacuation of the installations.
