The festivity of the ”Old Men” in Bruçó has two distinct couples as actors. One of “the Old” couple acted by two young single boys, and another formed by “Sécia”, a headless woman, of easy life and a soldier, responsible for the protection of his lady.
The performance of those characters who celebrate the rituals of “Old Men” party, towards people and in interaction with it, with offertory in the village, perform burlesque marriages, simulate the reproduction act and reproduce the necessary works for the community survival.
By the strength and the magic that mask gives to them, they make worth their superiority, eliminating the evil and appealing to the sun for the fertility of Mother Nature.
