Taking advantage of the presence of Nicolau Nasoni in Lamego, the Sisterhood of Our Lady of the Remedies commissioned the construction of a fountain to replace another that had fallen in disuse. According to the inscription on one of the tablets, the new Remédios fountain was completed in 1738, even before the construction of the Church of Our Lady of the Remedies.
