This is a building of beginning of the 18th century and is a perfect example of the distinctive style of the Pilgrims Sanctuaries
This particular shrine is dedicated to its patron, the Lord of Fão,and was granted royal privileges by the king Don Luis I. The royal coat of arms appears on the main façade and the monarch was given the title Member,Befefactor and Protector of Brotherhood of Jesus of Fão
