This route is done at Baldios de Fafião, parish of Cabril, municipality of Montalegre. Is signalled by the traditional "Mariolas". Is considered of high degree of difficulty, whether by the distance travelled 20.33km, or by several differences from coast, from 500 m to 1260m altitude.
It is advisable to be accompanied by a guide, since in winter the mountain is subject to dense fogs and the unexpected snowfall in the higher coasts and in the summer the usual herding in the mountain and requires a controlled access.
Departs from the centre of the village of Fafião, with passage in Fojo dos Lobos, and begins the climb to the mountain range towards the Corrales and existing huts along the trail. The cabins, small shelters scattered throughout the hills serve as an overnight stay to the shepherds in herds. These are built mainly of stone, with several variants, depending on the time they were built.
