The dish "Reca D`Alleu" was born of an initiative promoted by the Portuguese Association of Hotels, Restaurants and Tourism, which, with its associated restaurants of Vila Real, and the support of the Municipality of Vila Real, created a dish in order to promote it as a new local food product. Thus arises "Reca D`Alleu" which, using the pork , associated with a number of other products that are harvested in the region of Trás-os-Montes, such as potatoes, chestnuts, mushrooms, etc. and, as might be expected, the Douro Wine!
