Until the 1940s, the collection, conservation and classification of the national skins had deficiencies, added by the lack of infrastructure and means required by the method of preparing the fur. In order to fill this gap, in 1943, the National Hair Courtesy was established, which has since been dedicated to the preparation of rabbit, hare and beaver fur for the headgear and wool industry. In 1960, under the authority of António Oliveira Figueiredo, the company's manager, the factory building was inaugurated where the company continues to work to this day. When the foundation stone was laid in 1957, a glass vase with coins of the time was placed on the foundations to eternalize the memory of the event. It is currently one of the largest companies in the sector worldwide, marketing a wide range of products in different parts of the world. Here the raw material is processed to obtain high quality fur for the manufacture of felted and non-felted textiles.
