Daniel Catarino is a natural singer-songwriter from Cabeção, a village in Alto Alentejo that is not on the way to anywhere. While the Creedence Clearwater Revival cassette was playing in his father's Vanette in an infinite way, it was through the satellite dish of the family's appliance store - and the alarm clock on the bedside table - that he learned a lot about the music that would incite him to composition.
In addition to his native land, he lived in Évora, Dublin, Portimão, Nossa Senhora de Machede, and is now an inhabitant of Oporto who publishes "Sangue Quente Sangue Frio", a disc that follows "Good Things Come Evil" (2014) , "Songs From The Shed" (2015) and "Panorama of an Abnormal Life" (2017), but which Catarino assumes as "a new first album".
A habitual presence on national stages with around 60 concerts a year since 2011, he ended up being lost on a tour of Germany in 2015. Since traveling alone does not have the same grace, he is now in trio, accompanied by Manuel Molarinho on bass (O Manipulator, Whale Whale, Stepmother, Hungry Burghers) and Xinese on drums (Awaiting The Vultures, Ao Side, 1986), good friends who bring more rock to their canonism of adult poetic rebellion.
On the way he abandoned the pseudonyms with which he signed his music (Landfill, Long Desert Cowboy and Oceansea), founded the bands Uaninauei, Bicho do Mato, Alentexas, Cajado, O Rijo, Seven Thousand and Ao Lado, as well as the publisher and producer of events Capote Music.
May 18th presents his latest album Cold Blood Hot Blood in the Courtyard of Laranjeiras da Gatilho Amarante.
