This exhibition is part of the programming of the second edition of the Porto Design Biennale, an event promoted by the municipalities of Porto and Matosinhos and organized by Esad-Idea - Research in Design and Art.
The "Museum of Vibrant Matter" is composed of two nuclei: "Mat(t)erialities", which presents an exhibition area of several projects and objects that represent the most innovative experiments with new materials; and the " Archive of Vibrant Matter", which consists of a dynamic exhibition that contains an archive of materials that will grow and be fed by parallel activities to the exhibition.
It is curated by professor and researcher Alastair Fuad-Luke.
Conditioned by the pandemic, the Porto Design Biennale presents itself in a mixed format, divided between face-to-face and online initiatives, with a total of 49 activities, 20 online conversations, 11 workshops and the presence of nine curators, in 24 spaces.
