On Saturday December 16th, the closing concert of the IX edition of the International Festival of Iberian Organ takes place. The concert will be at 19:00, by Giampaolo Di Rosa, organist titular of the organ of the Church of the Capuchos, and musical director of the Festival.
The concert program will consist of improvisations on Christmas songs and has free entry.
The concerts take place in the Church of Santo António dos Capuchos, in the historical organ of the century. XVIII, restored in 2008.
The IX International Festival of Iberian Organ, which this year takes place under the theme Traditions in Music, includes five concerts, between June and December.
The ninth edition of the International Festival of the Iberian Organ of the Holy House of Mercy of Guimarães refers in particular to the profiles of European traditions regarding the king of instruments: the organ in its multiplicity.
From this year onwards, it is important to collaborate in partnership with the Sé de Vila Real and its symphonic organ, in the production of some concerts, which allows the sharing between musicians and, offering two different instruments, is expected to be an option to a wider audience.

Giampaolo Di Rosa is the titular organist of the Church of Santo António dos Portugueses in Rome, having recently been named titular organist of the Cathedral of Vila Real and guided the phonic projects of both symphonic organs.
PhD in musical analysis, completed in Europe the studies of piano, organ, harpsichord, chamber music, interpretation historically informed, composition, theory and analysis.
His repertoire covers all historical epochs, besides improvisation, his own compositions and transcriptions for organ, being interpreter of the integral cycles of some composers, among them Johann Sebastian Bach and Olivier Messiaen.
He develops concertista activity throughout the world, also dedicating himself to the teaching, investigation and advice for different institutions, like Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Guimarães and the Cathedral of León in Spain.
He is artistic director for the musical activity of the Portuguese Institute of Saint Anthony in Rome (IPSAR), appointed by its Rector Mons. Agostinho Borges in 2008.
The President of the Republic conferred on him, in 2010, the degree of Officer of Infante Dom Henrique.
