The Pombalino Market is a unique work of great architectural value, located in front of the pillory of Ponte da Barca. The “Abrigo Porticado” (Shelter), in the main square, was built in 1752. It has two arches supported by columns and it was intended to shelter the merchants, the boatmen and their goods. It is considered the ex-libris of Ponte da Barca.
