Casa da Boavista (Manor house)

Ponte de Lima
Description
Classified as Property of Municipal Interest

Built in the last quarter of the 17th centurty, Casa da Boavista is one of the copies of the Alto Minho manor architecture, which shares the simplicity and austerity of military architecture with the influence of architectural theory over classical 16th century. The chapel of the house, built in the early years of the 18th century and dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Conceição, presents a curious late Mannerist structure, whose main facade is topped by a triangular pediment with an image of Saint Anthony to the center and is flanked by buttresses surmounted by pinnacles and serlian gateway in the center.
