Description

The researches and excavations of Minho University demonstrated that this site was inhabited by man since the Iron Age and has been romanised. The castro's fortified village takes up an area of around 15 hectares and it comprises a defense system. Fragments of household ceramics and structures from Roman time are found here. This site is located at the foot of the south slope of Cabreira Mountain, in the parish of Cantelães.
