The history of Quinta da Lage, located in the village of S. Pedro de Arcos, dates back to the second half of the 12th century. However, there's no certainty about the time of the construction of the original building, in which was later made several campaigns of expansion. To this first body has been joined the "Torre Velha" (that means old tower) and the chapel in the 17th century. Between the last quarter of this century and the first of the following century has been built the "Torre Nova" (that means new tower), which was symmetrical to the old one. In that period has been built the body which is between the two towers. In the 18th century, the primitive chapel was extended has been extended , linking it directly to the housing outwardly visible through the arches.Currently, the House of Lage is a unit of Manor Houses.
