The village of Espindo is situated in the midst of the north side of Serra da Cabreira, taking over a large agricultural fertile valley, formed in steps, curving the hill from the town to the riversides.Typical of the mountain villages, the core built is of a concentrated cluster type with density of buildings in granite that surround the very narrow access road.
The economic activity of the village was sustained throughout time with animal farming which is clearly visible by the presence of granaries and mills and all properties associated to animal keepers. Already in the 20th century, the exploration activity of wolfram, has maintained more people on site.
