The Mediaeval Cemetery of Barreiras is the most significant monument of its kind in the Iberian Peninsula. The number of graves that were identified amounts to about two hundred, and dating oscillates between the 11th and 14 th centuries.This was due to the advance of sands , verified from the 15th century, which completely sealed this local.
