NATIONAL FOREST OF GELFA, ANCORA
Located in the south of the county, between the mouth of the river Âncora and Forte do Cão, the Forest Gelfa, National Forest since 1929, incorporates an interesting and rich sand dunes. It`s extended in parallel with EN 13 and results from the transport process of river and marine sediments, as Pinhal do Camarido. The Forest has great natural beauty, consisting essentially of pine trees, dominants in relation to other species, such as oaks, the stone pines, the elms, plane trees and poplars.
