Route Access
Departing from Vieira do Minho, take the direction of Cantelães by the EM526. Reaching Cantelães, follow by CM1410 towards the place of Serradela. Arriving at Serradela, you will see on the left side the Casas de Abrigo (Shelter Houses) and Picnic Park, and on the right, the board sign indicating the beginning of the route.
Route Description
This is a path whose stroke crosses predominantly to the northern slope of Serra da Cabreira. Provides the visitor a spectacular scenery of both Cabreira and Gerês. From the fauna point of view, it is eventually possible to observe horses, rabbits, small red birds, numerous birds of prey amongst the Golden Eagle, which nests on the slopes of the Serra do Geres.
Characteristics of the Route
Loop Route starting and ending at Serradela, with an extension of approximately 10 km, easily practiceable by the visitor, appearing in its final part an ascent with appreciable slope. Along the path there are 3 fountains – Fonte do Cortiço, Fonte da Pedra Escrita and the Fountain at the Picnic Park of Serradela. This route is relatively exposed both to the sun and wind.
