Over the past few years, the S. Pedro Festival has been assumed as one of the greatest of the municipality.
The Chapel of S. Pedro was built at the initiative of some espinhenses and with donations of residents in Espinho and Matosinhos. Inaugurated in 1942, was blessed by the Reverend Father Amadeu de Vasconcelos. Every year, on the 29th of June, the fishing village celebrates its Protector and Patron.
The Parade of Rusgas de S.Pedro, the Recreation of Xávega Art, using the yoke of oxen, and the Majestic Procession, which runs along the main roads of the city and that comes out of the Chapel, are the highlights of this festival, which brings many people to Espinho.
Lots of music and popular festival are the profane aspect of this festival, once again dedicated to the sea labors.
