The Oil Agricultural Cooperative of Tabuaço appears in 1950, as a partner for the farmers of Tabuaço. Initially an oil press traditional space, which over the years has progressed, adopting high technology engines, becoming possible to manufacture oil differently, with higher quality.
With the arrival of Dr. José Amaral, current president of the Agricultural Cooperative of Tabuaço, it was implemented a new single granary method, thus avoiding about 16 years late, the late olive picking by some producers in the region. In the Cooperative the process is made from the olive harvesting to processing the same, where are distributed recipients by the members for the gathering of olives and delivery at the olive press.
The intention is to implement the oil as one of the star products of Tabuaço County. Thus was created the CAT brand, in order to achieve a quality market. Currently the cooperative has substantially increase the export market.
The Oil Agricultural Cooperative of Tabuaço has at the moment about 700 members. The future is bright and the projects are numerous, being essential to continue to change mentalities and to make olive oil producers see the association as an excellent opportunity to make a higher quality product and a competitive price.
